Modernisation of the equipment

After the installation of the first centrifugal plant in Weißenhorn in 2020 and the commissioning of a second plant in Neu-Ulm by the end of this year, we will save up to 3500 t of CO2 per year.

Centrifugal chip cleaning

One of our most common types of scrap are chips produced during aluminium machining. As these chips contain a high proportion of lubricant residues, they need to be pre-processed to prevent them from burning in the furnace and producing high levels of various substances and emissions. Traditionally, this is done using a thermal chip processing plant, which is very energy-intensive to operate. Oetinger has therefore invested in centrifugal chip cleaning systems that separate the lubricant instead of burning it.
